KeyMaestro Input Device Driver

Congratulations on your purchasing this multimedia keyboard. Three convenient hot buttons are specially designed to save valuable mouse clicks and to save much your time. To use these three hot buttons, you have to install KeyMaestro keyboard driver first.

Installation

  1. Insert the disk labeled 'KeyMaestro Input Device Driver' into your disk drive.
  2. Open File Explorer to find 'Setup.exe' from the disk.
  3. Double-click the 'Setup.exe'.
  4. Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.
  5. The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on the taskbar.  The operating system needs to restart.

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Click the KeyMaestro driver icon icon.GIF (262 bytes) and select 'Exit' command to exit the driver program.
  2. Click 'Start' (on the left-bottom taskbar).
  3. Move cursor to 'Programs' in 'Start' menu.
  4. Move cursor again to 'KeyMaestro'.
  5. Select 'Uninstall KeyMaestro'.
  6. Click 'Yes' to confirm you want to uninstall.

Using Three Extra Buttons

Three extra buttons are specially designed on the top of the keyboard. They can help you to easily access to Internet, and to control the system power.

If you have installed two browsers in your system, the system default one will be opened. Mostly the system default is the later installed one.

This key is reprogrammable and can be treated as a shortcut key also. If you want to change the setting, click the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar and select Configuration command. For more details, please refer to the section Configuration.

Commands in the Menu

If you click the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following options.

This command is to change the settings for the Multimedia keys.

TheConfiguration window, you can see the reprogrammable buttons lining there. The names in the first column are the fixed button names and the names in the second column are the Button Label showing the current settings.  Click on the button you wish to reconfigure. The Button Customization dialog box will appear.

  1. Select a type for this button.

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 3000. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

If you want to attach a web page to the button, select 'Type in a web site address' and type in the URL of the page in the 'Address' field or click the Favorite button to select the web page from your favorites.

Type in the path to an often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer.

You can click 'Select' button to see the list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for this button, or you can click the 'Default' button to set back to be the original pre-defined function.

  1. In the Button Label box on top of window, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

  2. Click 'OK' to confirm your selection..

Select this command to bring up this Help file you are viewing now.

Select this command to see the information of this KeyMaestro driver, including the version number and web site which you can update the driver.

Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.

If you really want to remove (uninstall) the driver, please refer to the Uninstallation section above.

In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this multimedia driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.
